Taxi driver rapes passenger

A Pakistani taxi driver is facing charges for raping a passenger.

In the case that came up for hearing at the Dubai Criminal Court on Thursday, the man identified as BKN, 27, was asked by the unemployed Ethiopian passenger HMH, 25, to drop at a police station.

Instead, he drove to a sandy area in Ras Al Khor and got into the back seat. When she objected, he physically assaulted her before raping the girl.

Forensic reports later confirmed the rape and found semen samples on her body.

The accused has since been making contradictory statements before the Prosecution. He initially claimed to have known the girl with whom he had sex earlier.

But the forensic examination done on the girl does not indicate previous sexual experience.

He later said he met the girl on the day of the incident and deflowered the virgin girl. He then said he had consensual sex with the girl.
The court has posted the case for November 1 in order to get a defence lawyer for the accused.
