The flow of petrol has been stemmed yet again as some fuel stations in Sharjah and Dubai turn away customers from locked pumps without explanation. On the heels of more than a year of periodic fuel shortages at stations, one frustrated driver told an Arabic newspaper he had been searching for two days for an open petrol station in the Al Khan and Tawuun areas of Sharjah to no avail.
Arabian Automobiles, the exclusive dealer of Nissan, Infiniti and Renault in Dubai and the northern emirates has launched the UAE's first 24-hour service facility. The new facility located in Al Aweer aims to service 300 cars a day and accommodate the company's predicted double digit growth over the next year as well as its increased fleet servicing business it will complete for RTA, Dubai and Sharjah taxi's.
Bus commuters can now access a dedicated website that can help them plan the journey, explore different routes, buy the tickets as well as share their experience. The fully loaded interactive portal was launched recently and takes commuters on a virtual ride through the bus system in Dubai.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the completion of linking 300 signalised junctions with the Central Light Traffic Control System; which represents about 75 per cent of light signals in Dubai.
H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), announced that the Contractor of Dubai Metro Project; Dubai Rail Link (DURL) Consortium; is set to complete all the remaining works in the stations on the Red Line (18 stations) on 25 April 2010, and that all works in the stations on the Green Line will be completed in August 2011.
