Debunking rumours that the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) had suspended Water Taxi services, a senior official said that the marine transit mode, featuring ultimate privacy and luxury, continues to attract thousands of families, tourists and residents in Dubai and other emirates.

He said its operations were never suspended.

Hussain Hassan Khansaheb, Director of  Marine Transportation Department, said: “Water Taxis will come to the station nearest to your location to ferry you across the Dubai Creek and waterways. Anyone can book online or dial the toll-free number 8009090 to book from 10am to 10pm. Customers can pay by cash or card,” he said.

He said that Water Taxi riders have approximately reached 20,000 from January to June this year alone. “Until now, the Water Taxi service is going strong, and the RTA’s Marine Transport Department has expanded its service from the initial 17 stations to 38 stations along the coastlines of Dubai.” More info
