Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is planning an app that will allow the city’s residents to access all forms of public transport in one location.

The Integrated Mobility Platform will allow customers to pay for tickets on the Dubai Metro, the Dubai Tram, and the city’s buses, taxis and marine transport system, as well as the Palm Monorail, the Dubai Trolley and the limousine service.

The agency also said that in the future, the app could also allow users to book and pay for taxis via a service similar to that provided by ride-sharing apps Uber and Careem.

Mattar Al Tayer, the director general and chairman of the RTA, said that the project would be developed in three phases and completed in 2017. More info
