Dubai taxi plate owners receive Dh33m bonus

Over 6,500 Emirati taxi number plate owners in Dubai will receive a bonus of Dh33.28 million. His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, ordered the payment of the bonus to Emirati citizens whose taxi number plates are operated by the Dubai Taxi Corporation and franchise companies at the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

2bOwners of 6,656 number plates will be awarded the money. The amount ordered marks a 25 per cent increase from last year’s bonus. The RTA will start distribution of the 2015 bonus to the entitled recipients, over and above their annual financial dues from this week.

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, said: “This bonus is one of several other generous gestures we are accustomed to from His Highness that are a true testament to the support accorded by him to his people and the attention he pays to their social affairs and living conditions, particularly those with fixed incomes.” More info
