Dubai Taxi launches ‘My Skills’ initiative to edify non-technical staff

The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) at Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently rolled out a new initiative titled “My Skills” aimed at training and enriching the knowledge of its administrative staff to furnish them with the basic technical skills of vehicles maintenance.

The initiative, which was held in collaboration with strategic partners, is part of DTC’s endeavours to raise employees’ satisfaction through upgrading their competencies & technical expertise.

According to Yousef Al Ali, ِActing Executive Director of Dubai Taxi Corporation, this initiative came as part of the operational plan developed to educate employees at various job grades & titles on how to approach all technical aspects of vehicles in theory and practice. The training, which continued over two consecutive days, was held in one of the specialized training centers outside the Corporation, and conducted in different groups and phases,” he added.

“Training focus on getting to grips with parts of the vehicle, maintenance procedures, preventive check up, and vehicles’ safety systems,” continued Al Ali.

The Acting Executive Director of DTC stated that the third phase of this initiative, which was held in collaboration with DTC’s strategic partners (Al Futtaim Motors, Al Rostamani Auto, and Juma Al Majid Motors), has been completed at the beginning of July last and involved the training of 39 employees at the training centers of these partners.

“From inception, My Skills training program has proved feasible in realizing the desired objectives. Consideration is therefore now being given to explore the possibility of continuing the program with a new look in the last quarter of this year. More info
