Dubai – RTA’s Dubai Taxi Corporation has exhibited its new environment-friendly school buses to a number of school administrators in the Emirate of Dubai to acquaint them with the advanced technical specifications and designs featured on the vehicles.
About 50 of the buses will be deployed to transport pupils of private schools starting from the next academic year, 2015-2016.
To this effect, an induction gathering was held at the Head Office of the Dubai Taxi Corporation at Al Muhaisna in the presence of Mohammed Yousef Saleh, acting CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation; Mansour Al Falasi, acting Director of School Transport; Abdullah Al Meer, acting Director of Business Development; and several representatives of RTA’s Customers Council.
Al Falasi reviewed the technical and technological features of the new school bus, featuring a hydraulic suspension system enabling smooth entry and exit from the bus, as well as a control and monitoring system enabling control of the fleet operations and the use of environment-friendly technologies.
“These buses are fitted with the latest smart technologies, including CCTV cameras to ensure the safety and security of students, text messaging service to keep parents informed about the safe arrival of their wards, bus tracking system using GIS technology, and WiFi service for interested schools and educational institutions. These buses are designed to the highest safety standards of school transport services worldwide, and comply with the standards, stipulations and controls set by the Public Transport Agency of the RTA for entities operating in the school transport field,” he continued.
“About 35 schools expressed their intent to contract with the Dubai Taxi Corporation after being introduced to the school transport service and seeing the specifications of the new school bus. They have started signing transit service agreements for the forthcoming academic year,” said Al Meer. More info
