The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) has rolled out a Happiness Indicator with the aim of measuring contentment among more than 11,000 drivers and other staff.

2The unit of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said the move is part of its endeavours to raise the satisfaction of employees and motivate them to increase productivity.

Dr Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation, said: “The launch of the Happiness Indicator within the DTC conforms to the Dubai Government’s drive to measure the happiness level of community members in a bid to maximize it and ensure the development drive is human-focused.”

The Happiness Indicator is a questionnaire where the employee can report his or her impressions on the job they are doing by choosing options including happy, neutral and unhappy.

“The introduction of the Happiness Indicator stems from the deep conviction of the DTC that the happiness of employees and drivers reflects positively on the overall job performance and operational efficiency,” said Al Ali. More info
