RTA starts two bus routes to Tecom free zones
Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced two new bus routes –Route 83 and Route 85 — that will connect Tecom free zones Dubai Internet City (DIC), Dubai Media City (DMC) and Dubai Knowledge Village (DKV) to Karama and Discovery Gardens respectively. The buses operating on the new routes can cut down the commuting time for office-goers within the free zones by almost 50 per cent. The timings of the two bus routes take into account the peak hours.
Dubai drives to stop illegal private car-lift services
Ahmed Al Hamadi, Acting CEO of Dubai Transport Corporation (DTC), said: Motorists caught offering such service will be fined Dh5,000. Second-time offenders will be fined Dh10,000. And those who commit the offence twice in a year will be handed over to the police and deportated.”
Fans caught out by lack of taxis
About 1,500 people showed up for the first day, and a security guard at the stadium said the queues for taxis started at about 4pm and continued until 7pm. Other supporters turned to Twitter to voice their frustration. John Harris, posting under the handle RugbyCricketFan, wrote: “We waited 1 hr 40 mins for a taxi. It was dark and very cold by the time we got a cab.”

The victim ALS testified that on September 20, he stopped a taxi after finishing school at 3.30pm, asking the driver to take him to his house in Burj Khalifa.
Attendant unhurt as taxi crashes into Dubai shop
A shop attendant escaped unharmed after a taxi crashed into the Iranian Sweets shop where she was working on Tuesday evening. The taxi driver was driving on the opposite side of the road when a car entered the road unexpectedly, and in an attempt to avoid colliding with it, he ended up crashing into the shop.

Some features will be in 3D. Visitors to Dubai can now plan their daily travel in advance by using the RTA Journey Planner (Wojhati) which will eventually integrate the various mass transit systems such as the metro, public buses, water bus and water taxi.
