Emirates Gas LLC hosts CNG conference to promote alternative sources of energy

Emirates Gas LLC (EMGAS) hosted the first International CNG and NGV Conference at the Movenpick Hotel in Dubai. The objective of the conference was to promote the development of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) Industry in the UAE and strengthen the use of alternative sources of energy in the UAE including clean fuels.

Compressed gas to power public transport with less pollution

Public transport will soon run on compressed natural gas (CNG), which will cut carbon emissions by 70 per cent per vehicle. According to Mustafa, vehicles using a dual system utilise CNG and petrol/diesel, as well as a battery, making it the most efficient system.

Dubai taxis to be equipped with water coolers

Dubai taxis will soon be equipped with mini water coolers for selling mineral water on the move. The Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC), Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), has signed an agreement with Al Ain Mineral Water for supplying and installing mini water coolers on board Dubai Taxi vehicles.

Reserving a taxi in Sharjah will soon be a call away

The transport authority in Sharjah on Saturday announced that they would launch a hotline in the beginning of 2011, enabling residents to reserve a taxi at their own convenience. The installation process of the GPS and GPRS is expected to be completed in all 4,860 taxis by the end of 2010

Further enhancing its services through its fleet of around 4,000 vehicles, the Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) will this month launch two newly redesigned taxis to serve a special section of the society. The DTC’s specially designed taxis have been serving the people with special needs for nearly a decade now, but the RTA-managed taxi company feels it’s about time to bring in some changes that would improve the service as well as enhance the comfort and safety levels of the costumers.

Dubai launches e-Taxi service for hotels

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched an online taxi booking service for the emirate’s hotels. The e-Taxi service will be made available to the public by the end of this year, transport officials said on Tuesday.
