Dubai Airshow ends with $63.3bn deals
The 12th edition of Dubai Airshow ended on Thursday by recording $63.3 billion (Dh232.3 billion) worth of orders for aircraft, maintenance services and flight training programmes, the organiser said. The airshow organiser F&E Aerspace said the visitor numbers broke the record with 56,548 people attending compared to 52,978 visitors in the previous edition, an increase of 6.7 per cent.
Dubai Airport passengers rise 15.6 percent in 2010
Dubai Airport has crossed a ‘traffic threshold” after the number of passengers have surpassed 4 million in October and November 2010, according to Paul Griffiths, the CEO of Dubai Airports who said that a monthly count of 4 million travellers is forecast to become the norm for 2011.
Emirates pilot averts disaster at Dubai airport
While coming into land, the Airbus A330-200 pilot spotted another aircraft already on the same runway and took off immediately after initially touching down. “Emirates flight EK 523 from Trivandrum to Dubai landed at 0722 on November 7, 2010. The aircraft initiated a go-around sequence at the time of landing, after momentarily touching the runway,” an Emirates spokesperson said, in an emailed reply to Arabian Business.

Emirates launches lowest economy class fares to Australia and Bangkok
Emirates airline has announced lower fares for passengers travelling from Malta to Bangkok and all four cities in Australia. Emirates flies from Dubai non-stop to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth in Australia and non-stop to Bangkok. The special airfares start from e1,025.28 inclusive of taxes to all four destinations in Australia and are valid for passengers travelling in Economy Class during the month of March 2010 only.
