An Arab man has been sentenced to one month in jail and ordered to pay Dh3,000 worth of a fine by the Dubai Traffic Court on the charges of jumping the red light and interrupting the Tram operational service.

The Traffic Court ordered that the 43-year-old man’s driving licence be suspended for three months, as of the issuance date of the ruling, after he was found faulty at driving recklessly.

The motorist was found to have put road users’ safety and life at risk by driving recklessly and inattentively to the road and jumping the red signal. He was found faulty at crashing into the Tram, which was on its right pace, disrupting its operational service and causing it material damage.

According to Advocate-General Salah Bu Farroucha Al Felasi, the Dubai Traffic Prosecution Chief, the crash accident dates back to the end of September. “The Traffic Prosecution began its probe together with the Roads and Transport Authority and Al Barsha police station,” he said. More info
