Through this Center, which is supervised by Drivers Affairs Department, RTA Public Transport Agency, the RTA seeks to raise the bar on the traffic safety of the taxi service as well as the quality of services delivered to passengers in a bid to clients happier.
Al Tayer made a tour of the Center during which he was briefed by Dr. Yousef Al Ali, CEO of RTA Public Transport Agency, and Mohammed Masoud Al Janahi, Director of Drivers Affairs in the Agency, about sections, logistics and training programs in the Center which adopts advanced technologies in providing a smart training environment.
The Center is fitted with smart screens, audio-visual technologies, simulators for measuring and assessing actual driver’s performance, and a smart map base to enhance drivers’ literacy about tourist destinations and residential communities in the Emirate. The Center also dedicated halls for training drives on security & safety, first aid, and fire-fighting equipment at world-class standards in collaboration with competent bodies. The Center has also a social clinic to uplift human potentials where all drivers are subject to a medical and psychological assessment before obtaining a permit to practice their profession.
Explaining the role of the Center, Al Ali said: “The Center focuses on training drivers with a view to nurturing their driving skills and accordingly achieve the objective of traffic fines & accidents-free mobility which in turn contributes to achieving satisfaction of taxi drivers according to the highest international practices used in advanced countries under an advanced, creative, flexible and suitable training environment.
